Event Formats

From national conferences to intimate hospital trainings, 24 Days Without You transforms how providers, students, and communities understand obstetric emergencies and their lasting impacts. Our team helps design screening experiences that resonate, inform, and inspire action.

Conference Options

  1. Full Film – 60 min | 56-min screening with short intro or wrap-up. Works well for plenary or opening sessions.
  2. Film + Panel – 90 min | Screening plus moderated panel with patient and providers for deeper insight on story, trauma, and communication.
  3. Film + Workshop – 2–4 hrs | Screening with case framing, breakouts, and audience reflections; option to add AFE Simulation Toolkit.

February 20-21st, 2025 - 24 Days Without You was shown at the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health's national conference. The film was followed by a panel discussion with Annie, Dr. Beth Elfstrand, and Annie's father.

AIM also enabled their audience members to submit questions directly to Annie. She answered those questions and spoke at the close of the conference the following day.

Hospital / Clinic Options

  1. Departmental Screening – 60 min | During staff meeting or training block, with optional brief intro or closing reflection.
  2. Grand Rounds / M&M – 75–90 min | Screening within an educational session, followed by moderated Q&A or clinical reflection.
  3. Half-Day Workshop – 2–3 hrs | Screening plus group discussions, case mapping, and application to QI or safety protocols; optional AFE simulation.

June 2025 - 24 Days Without You was shown to all L&D staff in a the hospital campus classroom. The event was sponsored by an OBGYN group working at the hospital and featured snacks, drinks, and discussion after the film screening.

Educational Institutions

  1. Asynchronous Viewing – 60–120 min | Individual streaming passes for students, followed by class discussion.
  2. In-Class Session – 75 min | Screening plus brief instructor-led discussion; companion guide included.
  3. Integrated Module – 90–120 min | Screening paired with lectures or simulations on AFE, trauma-informed care, or perinatal mental health.

Fall Semester, 2025 - 24 Days Without You has been incorporated into coursework at Saint Louis University by Dr. Ashley Schmuke, PhD, RNC-OB, CNE, an Associate Professor at the Trudy Busch Valentine School of Nursing in 2025.

In lieu of purchasing a textbook, students will be purchasing streaming passes to the film, and coursework for that week will include discussion and reflection on the key themes apparent in the film, such as birth trauma, paternal PTSD, maternal infant separation, marital impact, and more.

Community Screenings

  • General Public Screening – 60-75 min | 56-min film with optional host intro or closing; promotional materials provided.
  • Advocacy Event | Screening plus group discussion on maternal health initiatives and calls to action.
  • Corporate Screening – 90-120 min | Film paired with networking event and/or post-film Q&A

May 7th, 2025 - 24 Days Without You was hosted by one of Morgan Stanley’s women’s wellness groups in honor of Maternal Mental Health Awareness Day.

They rented a theater and provided snacks and beverages. Conversation with Annie and Rebecca followed the film.
