A powerful look into the experience and aftermath of severe obstetric trauma told through the eyes of providers, family members, and the patient herself. Raw and vulnerable, 24 Days Without You invites reflection on clinical preparedness and the lasting influence of compassionate care.
Raw, powerful, and deeply moving. This film doesn't just tell a story. It invites you to feel every moment and leaves you thinking long after the credits roll.
Understanding the urgent need for change in maternal healthcare

Demanding more robust maternal care in the postpartum year
On March 22, 2020, Annie and Tony checked into the hospital for what should have been a routine delivery of their baby boy. Early the next morning, Annie experienced an Amniotic Fluid Embolism (AFE) -- a rare and often fatal complication of childbirth. This is the story of the heroic efforts of Annie's care team to save her and her baby from near death, the subsequent devastation resulting from birth trauma, and Annie's never-ending determination to find her way to her son.
Bring the patient perspective into every element of maternal care
We believe that authentic patient stories have the power to transform healthcare practice. By sharing one family's journey, we provide healthcare professionals with the emotional context needed to understand not just clinical protocols, but the human impact of their decisions.
Through screenings, discussions, and educational resources, we're building a community committed to preventing maternal mortality and supporting families through trauma-informed care.
"Annie, Tony, and Henry remind us of our sacred task as healthcare workers to care for families at their best moments and sometimes their worst moments. They remind us that our actions and inactions can live on for decades in their story. I'm a better nurse for having the opportunity to see their story. I want to be better for all the [families] that I care for."
